Oh, TV Tropes, I feel I did you a deep disservice when I dismissed you out of hand several months ago, after my friend showed me a page on your website and I got thoroughly confused.

Because, frankly, I don't think I have ever been as pleased and amused and just bubbly as when reading your page about Battlestar Galactica. I would marry you, if that weren't bizarre.

So. I realized on the car ride home that I'm so busy these days, the only thing I ever end up blogging about is how busy and stressed I am. Even my BSG finale reaction post has been put on hold indefinitely. And in those posts, I don't even make it amusing to read. It's basically uninteresting whining for two or three paragraphs. I know very few of you want to comment or read, because I wouldn't either if I were you.

Plus, a lot of us have drifted by the wayside (lol, the things my brain puts together when I'm tired...I'll leave that in for the lulz), or don't really talk, or don't have any connection or interests in common anymore.

Thus, in the interests of decluttering your flist, I'm declaring it defriending amnesty day/week/whatever period of time it will be until I feel you all have had your chance to get rid of me while you can :).

Since we all know I'm an attention-craving, rejection-fearing little emo twit, I'll probably be achy in my heart for a bit, and I'll miss you, but other than that no hard feelings.

So if I'm even worth the effort, defriend away!

I kind of doubt anyone will do this because it's not primetime LJ time, and the amount of responses one gets to this meme (and posts in general) seems to depend not only on the actual content of the post, or how many friends you have, but also what time you post it XD.

Also, comments are screened, because f-locking this post seems counter-intuitive for some reason, and also so people aren't afraid to ask anything.

I couldn't finish the last day. I succumbed to temptation and read somewhat vague and somewhat explicit spoilers for Sometimes a Great Notion. And though I'm pissed at myself, I'm going to do my best to remain spoiler-free for the rest of the episodes.

But as for this one? All I can say is:

Okay, that makes me feel guilty. But I honestly don't know how to answer this question - it's one the best minds in sci-fi have wrestled with and lost. Personally, I don't think robots could have feelings until we program the capacity into them. So once we do that, we'd better start showing some R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
